EGR 290 Engineering Career Training Preparation

Fall/Spring

This seminar prepares students for their first co‐op work assignment. Activities may include engaging in mock interviews with engineering employers, writing resumes and cover letters to apply for co‐op positions, and interacting with engineering employers through online and in‐person networking opportunities. Engineering students who have finished previous co‐op terms may be invited to present and discuss their experiences in class. Guest speakers from industry, including engineering co‐op mentors and/or human resource professionals, may be invited to discuss topics related to the real world of engineering employment. Exercises may also include role playing and situational ethics.
