ART 204 Survey of World Art I

Fall/Spring

This survey investigates the development and expansion of visual cultures from prehistoric origins through the Middle Ages in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. The course will examine the major styles and movements in architecture, painting, sculpture, and the decorative arts as well as the philosophical, religious, and social context of their making in global visual cultures before 1400.
