ECE 334 Communication Networks and Applications

Summer

This course introduces students to foundational concepts and applications of analog and digital communication networks. Topics covered in the course include communication network architecture; protocols, flow control, and routing; local and wide area networks; voice and data communications; data security and integrity; performance evaluation from an information theory approach in terms of efficiency and accuracy; source and channel coding; compression and decompression technology. Students will also learn about current and future advancements in communication technology and gain hands‐on experience in analyzing how communication networks operate. Prerequisite: 2.0 or higher in ECE 332.
