BHA 414 Research and Evidence-Based Practice

Professionals in healthcare fields may be called upon to supervise or interact with people who engage in research or systematically use the results of research to improve patient outcomes.  They therefore need to understand the basics of the research method in the biomedical sciences, understand the importance of this research for the larger society, be able to identify the basic elements of technical biomedical writing, give an account of how research results may reasonably differ, and talk in layman’s terms about this research.  Students learn and practice these skills in this course. Prerequisite: BEH 260  or MAT 250  or statistics course approved by instructor.
