BIO 224 Plant and Animal PhysiologyFall/Spring
This course examines the structure and function of plants and animals. By examining challenges for survival from an evolutionary perspective, you will learn how multicellular organisms integrate cellular, biochemical and genetic processes to survive and thrive. Topics covered will include: homeostasis, nutrient acquisition, responses to the environment, waste elimination, and reproduction. Lectures will employ case studies and problem-based activities to expand on the concepts being covered. Labs will include experimental design and data presentation. Labs may also include dissection. 3 hours lecture. 1 three-hour laboratory. Prerequisite: BIO 152 with a grade of 2.0 or better
