BIO 354 Immunology



This course provides an introduction to the basic principles of immunology, including the areas of innate and adaptive immunity, antigen-antibody interactions, the role of immunology in health and disease, as well as its uses in laboratory analyses. In the laboratory students utilize the techniques of serology, cell biology, and biochemistry to study the immunology of animal models. Written and oral reports are an essential part of both the lecture and laboratory components of the course. 3 hours lecture. 1 three-hour laboratory. Prerequisite: BIO 142  or BIO 150/151
