MBA 514 The Economics of Business

This course examines the political, social, and economic principles behind the operation of contemporary business. The course bridges the gap between economic theory and economic analysis. Among the topics stressed are demand and supply analysis, production functions, market structures, forecasting and the economic reasons for global trade. Mathematical models will be utilized with emphasis on regression analysis. These principles are applied to both domestic and multinational organizations. Also examined in this course are government agencies and how they affect the conduct of both private and public business sectors. Prerequisite: MBA 502  and MBA 505   (3 credits)
