THE 415 Non-Western TheatreSpring Semester, even-numbered years
This course will consist of readings, discussions, and DVD viewings of important works from India, China, Japan, and Indonesia along with practice in kabuki and noh movement, music and mask work. Connections of non-Western theatre’s acting and staging conventions with contemporary Western avant-garde theatre will be made. This course is cross-listed as LIT 415 . Prerequisite: WRT 102 , WRT 202 , THE 254 .
