BIO 204 (BIO110) Exploring BiologyFall-Spring Semesters
This course is an introduction to laboratory science for non-biology majors. This course is designed to increase critical thinking and problem-solving skills and to help students gain confidence in evaluating scientific issues that they will encounter throughout their lives. We will address a wide variety of current topics related to molecular biology, evolution, and ecology. Students will actively participate in the process of building knowledge in the field of biology by working in collaborative groups, solving realistic problems, and communicating information in different ways. Throughout the course, students will apply the scientific method by designing and conducting experiments and interpreting quantitative data. 2 hours lecture. 1 three-hour laboratory (BIO205).
