ART 219 Typography IISpring Semester
Building upon the basics learned in Typography I, this studio course challenges students to examine more complex typographic issues and develop expressive ways to solve communication problems. Discussion of assigned readings about contemporary typographic issues will help the student to understand type’s role in design. With an emphasis on composition, typographic hierarchy and syntax, and organization of information, the student will further develop the sensitivity needed to communicate effectively with type. 5 lecture and studio hours. Prerequisite: ART 218 . Art major only.
