Intelligence Analysis: Regional and Global Studies, B.A. Learning Outcomes


Program Educational Objectives

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the Intelligence Community (IC) members, the intelligence analysis cycle, methods used by analysts, the nuances of writing for the IC, knowing the key loci in the field of national security, and the U.S. classification system.
  • Evaluate open source (unclassified) facts and evidence using approved methodologies employed by the IC, be able to connect course material to real-world events, communicate effectively in speech and writing, and to provide assessments regarding contemporary topics centered on intelligence related issues focused on state and non-state actors.  Identify causes and effects of individual biases and work to overcome these when preparing assessments.
  • Focus on global and regional issues to gain an understanding of contemporary issues that are having or could have an impact on the field of intelligence.
  • Receive a foundation to understand a foreign language (read, write, and speak).
  • Gain hands-on experience through an approved internship (or applying for an exemption to receive credit through experience acquired from prior work experience).
