Program Educational Objectives

• Students will provide evidence of their continued professional development through classroom teaching experiences in the area of certification as noted by criteria, competencies, and clinical evaluation.
• Students will apply competencies and skills needed to accommodate and adapt instruction for students with disabilities and English Language Learners in inclusive settings.
• Students will demonstrate their knowledge in areas of assessment, pedagogy, and integration of art, with emphasis on literacy and math development.
• Students will demonstrate their ability to implement effective educational practices with regard to adolescent development and middle level education, including cognition, behavior, social, curriculum, and transition.
• Students will develop required knowledge and skills in their area of subject concentration.
• Students will apply the skills and competencies necessary to meet the specific and individualized needs of students with disabilities in multiple settings using specially designed instruction.
