Program Educational Objectives

Students will learn to:

• Draft, organize, and revise texts using recursive and creative processes associated with writing;
• Use language skillfully and ethically to participate in an increasingly digitally interconnected world;
• Interpret and analyze texts in the context of the literary movements, genres, and the socio-historical contexts in which they were produced;
• Apply disciplinary research methods and critical frameworks to contribute to ongoing global conversations in the fields of literature and writing;
• Articulate and apply the unique skills of an English and Writing major in professional and civic contexts.
