Mission and Program Educational Objectives

The mission of the DAAI program is to empower graduates with the qualifications and skill sets used to excel in animation, the gaming industry, and illustrated visual storytelling mediums such as the graphic novel. Through a curated blend of studio practice, art principles, digital tools, AI application, and hands on visual problem solving, students will achieve the following outcomes: 

• Proficiency in traditional artistic techniques, including drawing, design, and visual narrative.
• Proficiency in creative writing and narrative storytelling.
• Synthesis of art historical content and theories with visual and philosophical explorations on creativity and the creative process to construct works informed by historical context.
• Mastery of digital tools for image manipulation including the use of AI technologies to generate innovative art and enhance creative processes.
• Ability to conceive, execute, and present novel multimodal art projects that seamlessly blend artistic expression and AI innovation.
• Knowledge of industry professional practices, presentation and standard practices.
